Watchdog Football Game Donation

Nathan FraeymanMy name is Nathan Fraeyman. I am 17 years old and a Senior on the Romeo High School varsity football team.

This year, the Romeo football team is participating in an exciting Cancer Awareness and Fundraising game on September 17, against Sterling Heights High School. The name of the event is the "Watchdog Game.” The goal is to raise money to help fight cancer.

Our team has set a lofty goal of $50,000.

The other reason we are participating is to honor someone who has battled this terrible disease. For the game, players will wear special pink jerseys. On the back of our jerseys, we honor someone who has fought cancer by wearing their name in place of our own.

Key Elliott

For the 2010 Watchdog game, I have chosen to honor Kay Elliott.

Kay Elliott is a friend of our family, a pastor's wife, a mother of two beautiful children, a first grade teacher, and a friend to many.

Kay never imagined that she would also be known as a cancer survivor.

But she's also not one to let circumstances take control of her life.

So when Kay was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, she immediately gathered all of the information needed to make a quick decision on treatment.

After a few surgeries and a lengthy healing process, Kay is now cancer free and back to all of the things that fill her life -- her family, her faith, her friends and her students.

In addition to me wearing Kay's name on the back of my jersey, Kay will be honored with a short biography in a special Watchdog Game program that commemorates the participants and the people they are playing for.

At the conclusion of the Watchdog game, I will give my jersey to Kay as a keepsake of the event and as a validation of the strength she displayed fighting this disease.

In order to reach our team goal, we have been asked to individually raise a minimum of $250 for our jersey. I know this is a lot of money, but I am confident we can do it. I would greatly appreciate any donation large or small that you can offer to this great cause to help me meet my individual goal.

Tax deductible checks can be made out to Romeo High School, with “Watchdog Game” in the memo line, and mailed to the address below. Or, you can make a secure online donation via PayPal by clicking the donate button below. [Note: you do not need a PayPal account to make a donation.]

The deadline for donations is September 14, 2010.

Finally, if you are interested, you are welcome to join us for the Watchdog Game at 7 pm on Friday, September 17th, at Barnabo Field, located on the grounds of Powell Middle School in Washington Township, Michigan.

Come back to this web site for more information as the game date approaches.

Sincerely,
Nathan Fraeyman
