Below you will find footage from one of Romeo's most celebrated football wins ever: the 2002 playoff victory over Saginaw, won by the Bulldogs 7-6.
It was a Division 2 pre-district game that pitted the Bulldogs against a Saginaw squad that was among the top-ranked teams in the state and featured two high school All-Americans: linebacker LaMarr Woodley (#56) who now plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and running back Jerome Jackson (#25) who also later played in the NFL.
Nonetheless, the Bulldogs prevailed. Watch the clips and see what determination, desire and hometown pride can do -- not to mention a toughness for tolerating bone-rattling hits. For an example of the latter, fast-forward to the 5:46 mark of segment #1 to see a hit that Woodley makes on the Bulldogs' #77 during a punt return. Ouch.
